About Us
Our Story
Loupe (pronounced Loop) Studio is an artist-run creative space in Brisbane dedicated to supporting contemporary artists through exhibitions, fine art printing, workshops and community programs. The studio was created as a place where creative practice, collaboration and cultural exchange can thrive. We are committed to fostering meaningful connections and dialogue, while providing opportunities for artists to experiment, share ideas, and bring ambitious projects to life.
Loupe Studio is led by Christine Ko and Louis Lim
Christine and Louis are both artists and photographers themselves. Their firsthand experience in the creative process shapes everything they do — their desire to create a welcoming community space; and the care and attention to detail in how they run their printing lab, Loupe Imaging.
Our mission is to nurture a vibrant and inclusive creative community where artists are supported to experiment, collaborate, and grow.
We believe in the power of art to foster dialogue, strengthen cultural connections, and create meaningful experiences that enrich our communities.
Our programming places a focus on contemporary practices from the Asia-Pacific region, lens-based media, and socially engaged projects.
We are interested in projects that explore personal stories, cultural exchange, and the relationships between artists, communities, and place.
A creative hub in Yeerongpilly
The space houses our printing lab alongside resident artist studios and a communal area for exhibitions and workshops. Current tenants include Brisbane‑based artists Christine Ko, Louis Lim, Taloi Havini, Eliza Adam and Kanako Enokida. This collaborative environment fosters artistic exchange and community engagement.
